CPS 5.0 MAKES A GRAND ENTRANCE...

...and we thought it couldn't get any better! CPS 5.0 was released this summer, making CPS not only more powerful, but even easier to use! Make sure to download your new update soon so that you can become familiar with the new user-friendly interface!

  • New user interface! A major revamping in the new CPS Version 5.0 for Windows is the Ribbon Bar, which replaces the old menu system and which you will be familiar with if you are using Microsoft Office 2007. The idea behind the new ribbon bar is that rather than having to hunt through menus to find an available feature, you just click a tab and all the features are there in front of you. This may be a little disconcerting to those folks used to the old menu system, but it really is a great thing! Instead of "losing" features in all the menus, they are there when you want to find them.
  • Improved workflow simplifies creating, engaging, and reporting content and assessments.
  • Receive automatic update notifications when new CPS software and firmware updates are available.
  • Easily engage multiple lessons with ExamView banks and PowerPoint files.
  • An upgraded Gradebook automatically sets the view to the current date and makes it easy to populate the From and To date fields and grading period fields.
  • Question templates are organized in a more streamlined manner allowing you to easily select and utilize any question template.
  • Utilize the "Test Pad" function more simply.
  • There is now a "Join Tuning" feature for Higher Ed use.
  • The CPS Charting window displays frequencies and percentages directly on the charts and now contains 2D capabilities.
  • CPS 5.0 allows you to cut, copy, and paste information to lessons, lesson questions, and student records.
  • Easily edit student information.
  • CPS 5.0 allows instructors to provide loaner pads to Higher Education students.
  • Enjoy extended columns for CSV class import.
  • Associate additional file types to lessons.
  • Create organizational folders to better organize your content.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY...

“Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory. Be brave enough to live life creatively.” --Alan Alda (American actor, screenwriter & director)

FROM THE DESK OF...Dustin Frank

It’s that time of year again. School is ready to roll, full steam ahead. I hope everyone is off to a good start or is prepared to start the year off running. Much has happened since our last newsletter--relocation, new software, new partnerships and a ton of new schools adding to the CPS user community. We’re looking forward to another great year in serving schools all across the area. Check out our Back-to-School specials and let us know what we can do to continue to make CPS a success in your district.

Sincerely,

Dustin K. Frank
