The Principal's Corner...

Many schools are using collected data to drive change. Test scores are analyzed and used to lead curriculum improvement. Survey instruments like CPS provide feedback from students, staff, parents, and the community that lead to change too. Data can also be used to group students and to assign teachers with proven skills to teach specific student groups.

The Classroom Performance System is an effective way to gather an incredible amount of data very easily, whether on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. A variety of reports are produced that will allow teachers to analyze their own performance or the performance of every individual student.

Data is making a difference in these schools! See how principals in this article are using data to lead their schools to success. Take Me There!

Creating Questions in CPS
...Don't Make It Too Hard!

Some of the teachers that attend our CPS trainings are overwhelmed thinking about the amount of time they will have to spend typing all of their test and lesson questions into CPS. Typing questions directly into CPS IS a process that takes time.

However, what many of these teachers do not realize is how easy it is to quickly incorporate CPS into those lessons and tests that you have already taken the time to prepare. In fact, it is easy to leave a CPS training and use it in your classroom the very next day!

Below is a list of all the methods available to create content in CPS, arranged in the very simple pneumonic device, CREATE CPS. You'll notice that only one of them incorporates actually typing out the questions into the CPS software!

Chalkboard (Wireless)

  • Use eInstruction's wireless chalkboard to write out problems and answers.
  • Rapid Import From Microsoft Word

  • Structure Word files to import directly into CPS.
  • ExamView

  • Pull from thousands of questions to quickly and easily design tests and worksheets.
  • Answer Key Fast Grade

  • Use your existing printed tests or worksheets and quickly and easily input the answer key into CPS.
  • Type In Text

  • Open CPS and type in questions and answers.
  • Engage It Verbally

  • Verbally ask questions and have students respond.
  • Copy & Paste

  • Copy and paste data into CPS from any computer software program or the Internet.
  • Powerpoint

  • Ask questions based on existing Powerpoint slides.
  • Search the Content Library

  • Search our content library within CPS.
