The Principal's Corner...

As many educators continue to see the increasing need for technology in our schools to accommodate the growing interests and needs of our students and to disseminate the loads of information found on the World Wide Web, there are still those that are fighting it tooth and nail.

What can you as an administrator do to motivate your teachers to use technology in the classroom?

Education World recently participated in a teleconference with Dr. Walter Tobin, interim superintendent, Calhoun County, South Carolina, Public Schools. During the interview, he shares his thoughts about providing more and better professional development for educators in the area of technology. (Please be patient; it lags a bit on loading.) Get Ready, Nebraska!

Engaging Technologies and Paul Ekberg of Online Assessment Support have joined forces to offer Nebraska schools the ultimate solution to benchmark testing. With eInstruction’s Classroom Performance System from Engaging Technologies and data-disaggregating software from Online Assessment Support, schools will be able to deliver their required testing using CPS and send all the data straight from CPS to be disaggregated, without spending hours grading and manipulating the data. As an added bonus, teachers will have access to the CPS systems for use on a daily basis in the classroom!

Together, Engaging Technologies and Online Assessment Support will be able to provide an excellent alternative to Scantron, providing not only an assessment solution, but also a solution that will engage students on a daily basis in the classroom.

At Engaging Technologies, we are dedicated to working with schools to offer solutions to the challenges of assessments, standards, and the No Child Left Behind Act facing today’s schools.

FROM THE DESK OF......Dustin Frank

September was a busy month for getting schools up and running and some great new opportunities from eInstruction and Engaging Technologies.

With the acquisition of FS Creations, eInstruction is definitely proving their commitment to continuing to provide their customers with the best opportunity to be successful in the classroom.

We at Engaging Technologies seek to provide our customers those same advantages as we have been meeting over the last couple weeks to secure future opportunities to offer an expanded line of engaging technologies for the classroom. We are excited about the partnerships that have presented themselves and are anxious to announce our new products!

In the meantime, please let us know if we can serve you in any way!

Sincerely,
Dustin K. Frank
