QUESTIONING STRATEGIES FOR AUDIENCE RESPONSE SYSTEMS...

Dr. Will Thalheimer, founder of Work-Learning Research, has devoted his time to helping instructional designers, e-learning specialists, trainers, and performance consultants build more effective learning solutions. One of his latest endeavors is a research-to-practice white paper entitled, Questioning Strategies for Audience Response Systems: How to Use Questions to Maximize Learning, Engagement, and Satisfaction. On Dr. Thalheimer's website, www.AudienceResponseLearning.org, he states, "In this paper I offer a blueprint for how to use audience response systems to maximize higher-order learning in the classroom and beyond."

This paper really is a beneficial tool for all teachers, especially those having trouble getting past the idea that multiple choice questions are all "easy" and involve only lower level questioning. You can purchase the report or peruse Dr. Thalheimer's site for some great resources.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY...

“A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.” --Wayne Gretzky (NHL career leader in goals, assists, and points)

FROM THE DESK OF...Dustin Frank

With school in full swing and things beginning to get into some form of normalcy, now is a great time to for teachers to continue to prepare for their high-stakes testing. CPS is an excellent tool that will allow teachers to create practice exams in a matter of seconds, deliver them for warm-ups or weekly progress checks, and immediately get feedback that allows them to plan future lessons to continue to improve preparation for high-stakes testing. Don’t hesitate to contact us for help or training on utilizing your CPS units to the fullest.

Sincerely,

Dustin K. Frank
