I was wondering if there was any way that I could import my CPS grades from quizzes, assessments, etc. into PowerSchool, rather than having to type all of them in. This would be a huge timesaver for me. Is this even possible?
Thanks for your question, Matt. This is a question that a lot of people are interested in, because the ability to import CPS grades directly into PowerSchool is a huge timesaver, especially if you use CPS on a daily basis. And yes, it can be done.
There is a Camtasia video created by San Luis Coastal Ed Tech (www.slcedtech.net) that demonstrates one way to import CPS grades into PowerSchool. You can find that here.
The video is nice to follow along with so that you can see what the actual screenshots look like. The end of the video also gives instructions for importing Moodle grades into PowerSchool.
In addition, our eInstruction colleague, Bill McIntosh, has posted a document called Using CPS With PowerSchool on his Scribd site.
As Bill states in his document, these procedures were developed by Lance Suter, a CPS-using classroom teacher and a member of the eInstruction Classroom Champions group. However, these are suggestions and are not official procedures developed by eInstruction or Pearson; thus, these suggestions are not officially supported by either.
We'd love to hear of any other resources that have been developed that instruct users on using CPS with PowerSchool. If you know of a good resource, please don't hesitate to leave a comment!
